Culture

 Culture

Culture is the collection of someone's or a group of peoples' individual or collective beliefs, ideas, values, and morals. It can also explain the common way of dressing or the common possessions own by a person or group of people. Different cultural groups can exist in a single country at a time or could be in different places and just bond over their similarities.
Culture of Country
This shows the blending of people in the U.S
The culture of the United States is a mixture of different people and ideas. There is all different ethnicities and religions all over the U.S. There is pockets of people that are alike and therefore they live together is their own region but are still in the U.S. The United States has influenced me because it's not all the same everywhere you go. I have met people who are different than me in either religion, race, or both. This has helped be more open minded.

Culture of State
The culture of Missouri varies. Some places are rural while others are urban. There is both farming life and city life. People tend to have big to medium families in the farms and smaller ones in the city. In some places, like Branson, St. Louis and Kansas City, life is very fast paced and people are always going places. It's less common for people to have big families and people tend to be more career oriented. This has influenced me because I'm used to being around people who have lots of siblings and live in the country and also I'm used to people having few siblings and living in the city.

Culture of town
Downtown Liberty
The culture of Liberty, Missouri didn't vary a whole lot. Most of the people that lived there were Caucasian and christian. There is mostly 3-4 kid families and both parents work. This influenced me because I am used to an area with people just like me and that's what I'm comfortable with. I'm not completely comfortable with racial or cultural diversity yet.

Culture of Family
In my family, we have both eastern and western religion

The culture of my family is a mixture of a lot of things. My parents are still married to each other. My family is a little different than most because of the fact that we are a split religion family. My dad is a christian and has been since my parents got married, my mom is a Buddhist but got married as a christian and just recently converted. This has influenced me because it's caused me to really reevaluate my beliefs and make a choice instead of just having "family religion"
This is like my school because people are separate

Culture of school
My school (Liberty North) was segregated. It was divided into specific groups and EVERYONE had to fit into a certain group, even if it was the 'loser' group. My school was also very focused on sports as apposed to education. This has influenced me because I always try to associate myself with a "group" instead of just being a free floater and not having a set group of friends. It also taught me that skills are sometimes more recognized then academic excellence.

Culture of friends
My best (and only "true") friend, Hunter is very open minded. He doesn't always agree with me but tries to listen to me anyway. He is accepting and tries to give everyone a chance to share their opinion. He is not perfect and doesn't claim to be. Being friends with him has influenced me by showing me that there is someone who loves me no matter what, even after they know everything about me. It's also taught me that I should never be too full of myself and to always keep learning from people
